Gérard Chessex

A Swiss national, Gérard grew up in the Lake Geneva area while frequently visiting numerous parts of the world. He is married with three grown-up children and is a passionate mountaineer and outdoor sportsman.

After studying management in Lausanne University’s Commercial faculty, he moved to New York where he obtained a finance degree from New York University. After working for a few years, he chose to complete his education by studying for an MBA in IMD in Lausanne. Gérard is driven by values such as respect for others, meaningful relationships and highlighting each and everyone’s qualities.

Gérard brings a very broad set of competencies. After working as a salesman for an American distribution company in New York, he moved on to consumer marketing with multinationals such as Seven-up and Berlitz Publishing; he subsequently moved into the industrial area first as production manager and then as the managing director of a 200-person facility; most recently, he took over the management of an SME active in the service sector which he was able to successfully develop prior to its acquisition by a larger group. Thanks to his experience in Switzerland and abroad, Gérard can work in French, English and German.

Following his extensive career in general management, Gérard has now chosen to devote his expertise and talents to the area of human resources where he will be leveraging his own personal expertise in career transition. His understanding of the business world, his listening skills as well as his optimism will be highly valuable in accompanying individuals in their development and growth.
